Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your visit.

What is the difference between Massage Therapy and Osteopathy?

Massage Therapy focuses on relieving muscle tension, reducing stress, and improving circulation using hands-on techniques like deep tissue, relaxation, cupping, or trigger point therapy. Osteopathy is a manual therapy that looks at the body as a whole. It gently works with your muscles, joints, fascia, and nervous system to restore alignment, improve mobility, and support the body's natural healing processes. It's ideal for chronic pain, postural issues, women's health, and recovery from injury or stress.

What is manual osteopathy and how is it different from chiropractic?

Manual osteopathy is a hands-on therapy that works with the whole body — muscles, joints, fascia, and the nervous system — to restore balance and support natural healing. Unlike chiropractic care, which focuses primarily on spinal adjustments, osteopathy takes a full-body approach using gentle, sustained techniques. There are no forceful manipulations. Sessions are calm, thorough, and individually assessed.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly online. If you have insurance, some plans may require a referral — check with your provider to confirm.

Are services covered by insurance?

Yes. Massage Therapy sessions are covered by most extended health plans. Osteopathy treatments may be covered under "Manual Osteopath" or similar — please check with your insurer before booking. A detailed receipt will be provided for all sessions.

Do you offer direct billing to insurance?

Osteopathy or Massage Therapy sessions are not direct billed — a detailed receipt is provided after each session for you to submit to your insurance provider. Most extended health plans cover MOT and RMT services. Please verify your coverage and any session limits with your insurer before booking.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing. Depending on your treatment, you may be asked to partially undress (only to your comfort level), or remain fully clothed, especially during osteopathic care. You will always be properly draped and respected.

What can I expect during my first visit?

Your first appointment includes a discussion of your health history, a physical assessment, and a hands-on treatment tailored to your needs. We take time to understand your goals and explain each step of the process, so you feel comfortable and cared for.

How long are the sessions?

Massage Therapy: 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Osteopathy Follow-Up: Approximately 60 minutes. Osteopathy Initial Assessment: Approximately 90 minutes. Please note: We charge based on the type of appointment, not the exact length of time. Session lengths may vary slightly based on your needs that day.
