Data retention

Health records are retained for the period required by Alberta regulations and professional regulatory body guidelines.

For massage therapy and manual osteopathy, this is generally a minimum of 10 years from the date of the last treatment, or until the client reaches the age of 18 plus 10 years (whichever is longer) for minor clients.

Once the retention period expires, records are securely destroyed.

Billing and financial records are retained as required by the Canada Revenue Agency (generally 6 years).

Membership and subscription privacy

If you subscribe to a Wellness Membership plan, your subscription is managed through Stripe.

Stripe processes your payment information securely and provides you with a Customer Portal to manage your subscription:

Through the portal, you can update your payment method, view billing history, and manage your subscription.

We do not have access to your full credit card number — only the last four digits and card type for identification purposes.

Privacy breach notification

In the unlikely event of a privacy breach involving your personal or health information, we will:

  • Notify you as soon as reasonably possible

  • Notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta if the breach creates a real risk of significant harm

  • Take immediate steps to contain the breach and prevent further unauthorized access

  • Document the breach and our response for regulatory compliance

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements.
